Hi jharris516,

No, it isn't. Debit cards always draw funds from the account they are linked to. They never extend credit, like a credit card does.

This is a common misunderstanding because there are actually two ways that Visa or MasterCard debit cards process purchases: as "debit" transactions, using a PIN, or as "credit" transactions, using a signature (the same as credit cards do, hence the misleading name).
