Document Shredding?

John, do you go as far as to shred all your banking or financial related mail? Or would you say this is just paranoid behavior?

John: that is a great analogy and one that I will certainly use when I am explaining to my wife why we need to invest in a document shredder.

You know, that's a darn good question. I shred everything that has my name and address on it. EVERYTHING. A friend of mine lives in Bozeman MT and a story that he told me can be used as a metaphor for preventing ID Theft...so please indulge me...

If you are hiking through the woods alone and you run across a mountain lion with cubs...well let's just say you better have a gun or a Will.

If you are hiking and you run into the same mountain lion but this time you're in a group then the question is "Do I run or not?"

The answer is, yes...run like hell. And while you're not going to outrun the mountain lion all you really need to do is outrun one of the people in your group. Think about it.

It's the same concept with robo-shreding. Yes you can find the info somewhere else easily but why make it easy on the thief. He/she is much more likely to just go to the next house where they don't shred.
