There are different insurance policies for "owner-occupied" and "rental" homes. If you live in a house and move out, that house is still insured (as long as you're making your payments).
But once you take up permanent residence somewhere else, you should update your policy. Especially if renters move in, it might violate certain clauses in your policy that the home isn't "owner-occupied" any more.
