What's a hard pull and what's a soft pull for credit reports? Do both impact your credit score?

Hard and soft pulls are considered inquiries. Soft pull inquiries which are account review and promotional inquiries have no effect on your credit score because ONLY YOU can see them. Potential creditors and scoring models do not see soft pull inquiries. Excessive hard pull inquiries can effect your score. These inquiries are the actual list of creditors that have seen your credit report.
