It depends on what type of account you are getting. Free checking only cost $50.00 depoist. I live in CT and the bank I use they do not charge a monthly fee.

Not sure what it's like where you are but where I am it costs nothing, you just put the money in the account and then you get chareged a monthly fee of anywhere between $2 and $20/ month.
