Storm asked 4 months ago in Student Loans

I am a South African student who wishes to study in the US. My question is does anyone know where I can find financial aid?

I'm starting to study chemical engineering in South Africa and would like to complete my studies in the U.S. Most financial aid requires a U.S (permanent resident or citizen) Co-signer which I don't have. Any details on scholarships, financial aid or a work and study programme would be much appreciated. I'm a hard worker.

What little aid is available usually comes from the college itself. There is very little financial aid from the US for international students to study in the US (just as there is very little financial aid from foreign countries for US students to study internationally). See www.edupass.org for information about studying in the US, including financial aid.

Private student loans uniformly require a US citizen or permanent resident creditworthy cosigner.

Two sites that I know of provide loans to international students with a US cosigner:

www.privatestudentloans.com/international and
www.internationalstudentloans.com

For scholarships, visit iefa.org or InternationalScholarships.com

Good Luck!
