I put medical expenses on last years return but could not take deduction, can I carry those over and combine with this years expenses?

Can I carry over prior year medical expenses that failed to meet 7.5% threshold in 2007? I entered medical expenses on 2007 return. They did not satisfy 7.5% threshold. Thus, no deduction in tax. Can I combine prior year's medical expenses with current (2008) medical expenses to satisfy 7.5% threshold where the prior year's medical expenses were entered on 2007 return?

No. You can only claim medical expenses in the year in which they are paid.
