I WOULD LIKE TO ADD MY WIFE WHO HAS NO SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER TO MY HEALTH INSURANCE. WOULD THAT BE POSSIBLE?

Hi rob_ertagon,

It certainly should be. I'd start by contacting the insurance provider and explaining the situation.

If they cannot add her immediately, and you qualify for spousal coverage, they should be able to instruct you on how to fix the problem.

YOU CAN OBTAIN TAX ID # FROM IRS.THERE IS A SPECIAL FORM FOR THAT.AFTER HAVING THAT ID YOUR WIFE CAN WORK AND EVEN YOU CAN FILE HER IN YOUR TAX RETURN. SS # OR TAX ID # YOU CAN USE FOR YOUR INSURANCE.BUT BEFORE YOU DO THAT CHECK WITH YOUR INSURANCE.
UNFORTUNATELY I DO NOT REMEMBER FORM #, BUT IT IS EASY TO FIND www.irs.gov
