Paying taxes on my car

Do I have to pay vehicle sales tax when I register an old car that I am getting from my parents?

I think the answer is most likely a yes if you are buying it from them.

Not sure if it would be subject to a gift tax if you are getting it from them as a gift. Anyone else knows this?
