What information do you need to create a will?

Need to create a will. My wife and I have two young children and need to ensure that they are properly taken care in the event something were to happen to my wife and/or I.

Especially for your child care needs....you need to identify who will be responsible for your children if God forbid something happens to both you and your wife at the same time. Who will care for them? Who will be the gardian?

Who will be your executor? Will a seperate person handle the distribution of your finances or administer a trust? These are all thing you need to consider and have ready when you go see the lawyer. Do not wait until you are sitting in his office before you think about who will take care of your kids.

If anyone depends on you for financial support, you need a will.

The first step is to understand everything involved in writing a will and otherwise creating an appropriate estate plan.

The best resource I know is a free site, nolo.com.
