Somewhere the cost of living is low, and the climate is mild. Phoenix, AZ is great during the winter. Housing recently took a huge dive there, so homes are relatively cheap with low property taxes. Summer's are hot, but if that bothers you, Sierra Vista, AZ would be a place to look into. Also, Texas has a lower cost of living than other states. Food, utilities and housing are all cheap. Although, the downside of TX is the humidity, and the high property taxes, which may outweigh the low inital cost of buying the home. There's also Colorado with over 300 days of sun. That's where I will be retiring. Best wishes.

Anywhere that you like that has a lower cost of living. AZ, NM, UT are all great options.

Look into Tennessee. Clarksville, TN has cheap housing $140,000 for a brand new 4 bedroom house! Property taxes are low, about $1400 on that house per year. It is also 1 hour north of Nashville. The weather is nice. No snow, but it can be hot in the summer.

Many Americans are headed south - Central and South America. Belize, Guatemala, and parts of Mexico are mentioned by many on blogs as great places to live with excellent health care and low cost of living.
