You have to know the ticker symbol of the IIV for the ETF you are interested in. For example the IIV for the iShares Russell 3000 ETF (IWV) is IWV.IV. This is listed on the iShares website for IWV. Then in Yahoo! Finance you enter the symbol as ^IWV-IV (add a ^ in the front, replacing the dot with dash). When the market is open, you will see a quote for it.

Hi Carls,

Thanks for your question. I checked in with Scott Burns, the Director of ETF Analysis at Morningstar to be sure I gave you the right answer.

The Intraday Indicative Value (IIV) is calculated by the ETF provider for its authorized participants. Every ETF has about 3 " 7 authorized participants who are charged with obtaining the underlying assets needed to create an ETF.

The IIV is supposed to give these participants a sense of the relationship between a basket of securities that are representative of those held in the ETF and the share price of the ETF on an intraday basis.

Basically, The IVV is a value that's used by the people running the ETF. It's not meant / provided for retail investors.

Hope this helps,
Kristen
