Why are no federal withholding being taken out of my check this started about 3 weeks ago i claim 4 all the other taxes stayed the same?

I just noticed the same thing on my stub. I claim "one", and they've taken a measly $175.00 year-to-date. My boss said there may be a maximum, and I need to go to the accountant.

That definitely sounds strange, usually changes aren't made unless you request them yourself. I'd say check with your HR department, and if need be, re-submit a W4.
