For anyone is looking for a place to put money - do not do so in Amegy Bank. You would do better to put it under your mattress. This bank took a deposit written on a Wells Fargo check and put a hold on it for 19 days. 19 DAYS. No one can explain why - some deposits are held for 5 days, some are held for 12 days and this one was held for 19 days. In the meantime, my checks are being returned - yet I have more than ample money in the bank to cover these checks. To add insult to injury - they charged me over 430.00 in fees and acted like this was normal procedure. How many of you could have your payroll check held for 19 days??The account rep who made this decision was Angela Russell - I am sure she must of learned her banking skills playing monopoly - I am appalled that something like this can happen in a FDIC institution - is this even legal??I mean if the check was from Africa, I might understand that - but it was from Ohio. I could of driven to Ohio and cashed the check and drove back to Texas in 4 days. What a bunch of crooks - and you can't rate lower than one star - if so, I would have given them negative 10.
