I have had several issues over the past year with the bank pending cash transactions at the branch and charging fees for these transactions a week or two later. I never recovered any of the fees and never got a good explanation. Only plus, I suppose, is that I easily got a person on the phone whenever I called, though it never did much good once I did. I'm closing my account this week and would advise others to steer clear of the headaches.
Associated bank is a fine banking institiution. They offer a 24/7 phone banking service that allows you to check your balance, hear recent transactions and even transfer funds. This service makes it real easy to find what your last purchase was if you lost a receipt and need to find the price and write it in your register.
They also have a sort of "overdraft forgiveness." Although they do not advertise anything of the nature, they are always willing to negotiate your overdraft and will even sometimes reverse your fees.
I'm disgusted with how pushy - salesy - slimey Associated Bank is. They pushed and pushed me two years ago to sign on and set up my HSA Acct with them linked to a Checking Acct so the Banker could get credit for signing another customer. They have caused me nothing but stress. Their customer service associates are super Rude. HSA's are messed up from the Get-go and they won't even stand up for their company and fix the fact that their banker set my HSA up incorrectly and has costed me hundreds of dollars in overdraft fees - that isnt even$ they made. They're a scam. Do not bank here. All they care about is $, not customers. I'm closing all of my accounts and encouraging my company to bank HSA's else where. The new way for Banks to scam their customers.
Associated Bank always gives me great service and I enjoy visiting them because they always remember my name and make me feel valued. This is especially true about the group at Festival Foods East in Green Bay. They are a pleasure to do business with everytime I visit!!!
Over the last four years the only consistent service I've recieved from Associated Bank is disappointment. I like to patronize locally based businesses, but tonight I am going online to explore my banking options globally, and make a long overdue bank change. In general the bank tellers are rude, the hours are limited, and the newly imposed 24 hour hold time on deposits is both archaic and borderline criminal. To top it all off Associated offers none of the checking with interest or online account updates, so many COMPETITORS are inticing me with. I've consulted a lawyer concerning Associated "courtesy" overdraft fee, considering they admitted to never sending a copy of the terms to my new and current address. The key to business is customer service, speed and fairness of policy, all of which this company sorely lacks. My next email will be to the Better Business Bureau, good luck with that.
p.s. You have spelled my last name wrong for four years despite my numerous attempts to correct it.
Sincerely,
