Astoria Federal Savings is the worst worst horrible bank I ever dealt with... they hit you with some many fee's that is ridiculous. if you travel international and use your debit card they hit you with double the fees just for using your card that is link to your own checking account. this bank is horrible. They are in control of your money. all they do is take take. but they do not give nothing back. is the worst. Also there on-line service sucks when you are transfering money from one account to the other everything is fine. but apparently astoria would not be able to read or see your transfers til the next business day. so if you made a transfer to cover an overdraft they would still hit you with another overdraft fee because of their corrupted system..... they need to have a better system.

It's not funny when you check the insider trading that the big wig dumped 6 million dollars worth of stock in april of 2008 when it was going for 30 dollars a share 4 transactions during april and now the stock is worth less then 8 dollars.Wheres the gov.checkers on this one!!!

i have a checking account with this bank and the balance that i obtain from its automated phone service never ever is in line with my own balance in the checkbook--i have gone to a branch countless of times looking for hidden fees in a statement-----at least that would explain it--------- i have been short in my account by hundreds of dollars! they swear they are no hidden fees! i am frustrated---does this happen to anyone else/

Astoria is one of the worst banks, if not the worst. If Astoria is in charge of your money, you should be very worried. Hidden fees, hidden charges and incorrect balance statements coupled with highly inadequate and sometimes frustrating employees leaves me feel like my money would be better off if left under the mattress or maybe with a drug addict. Please do yourself a favor and never, ever, ever open a bank account with Astoria. I would feel so relieved if this review helped even one person avoid the massive headache and pile of **** that is Astoria Federal Credit.
