Overdraft fees are ridiculous. I had to pay $150 in overdraft fees because they could not warn me or freeze my debit card, instead letting me run up a considerable amount of fees into the hundreds. I am closing my account with this institution and I hope that anyone who considers doing business with Banco Popular steers clear from them.

This is an awful Bank. Don't you dare to go overdraft. In less than a year we had paid over 300. dollars in NSF fees. Due to the fact that lets say you overdraft over 15 cents and they collect 30 ov fee , plus $5 every day fee and if you don't pay be a few days they will charge you another 30 dollars plus 5 per day. We were recently overdraft by 30. did not realized it until by the end of the month and they had incurred $130 for an over 30 overdraft. Do not bank with this bank. I will close my accounts with them.

Worst customer service on the planet. It usually takes 2 or 3 tries (on hold for 30-40 minutes) before someone will answer without the call being dropped. Also, once you get someone on the line they transfer you and you have to wait another 20-30 minutes and all the info is in Spanish (even though you pressed 1 for English) so you don't know what the different menus are! I would never open another account because the way they treat customers is terrible. Just to order checks you have to mail in a form (snail mail) and then call 3 times to check and see if they got it. I've wasted 6 hours of my life with this company just to get checks in the mail to me. Terrible company.
