I applied for an auto loan refinance with Chase, and they flat out lied to me about items on my credit report as I had the report in front of me. I will take my business elsewhere. Thank you Chase. Myself and my employer are also sending our business elsewhere.
HORRIBLE !!! RUN FROM THEM !!!
Once they acquired WAMU, they raised my APR to a ridiculous amount and closed my credit card.
By default their customer service threats their customers like SH**T .. i have called them 3 times, spoke with 3 different operators.
While not satisfied with the result of the conversation (they simply won't do any step towards helping you) I informed about my plan of closing all my accounts (i also have my checking and saving with them). The only response was "it's your decision" .. all 3 times ..
Basically they won't give a S about a customer
if there was -10 stars on this system I would definetly grade them -10 ..
RUN RUN RUN !!!
My experience with Chase started with them not releasing my savings money for my home purchase. They said because it was a special type of a Wamu account they needed special codes to release it!! Long story short...it took a week for me to get my savings when I was in the middle of purchasing a home! I'm not stupid...I know how the banking system works. This was an excuse for the bank to earn some interest money on MY savings!!
Every transaction I've made with the bank has been hell since Chase took over. They so don't care about their customers!! Just today for an example. I went to a branch to take money out because my debit card HAD TO get cancelled due to a duspute (Wamu used to send you a replacement card 1st then would cancel the other card). After waiting in line for a little while, I wanted to make sure my address was changed. Nope! Old address still in there! This is my 3rd request. I had checks sent to my new address, had a new debit card sent to the new address but somehow, in their database they have my old address. I ask the lady to change it again and unlike the previous tellers, she made me talk to a different guy to take care of it. I had to wait in line again to talk to him. What ever happened to making things convenient for a customer? After he changed my address I had asked him to change the address on my children's account. Nope! Can't be done without my 10 and 11 yearl old being there! Seriously?!?! I am their mother! I have the right to do as I wish with any of their accounts while they are minors!!!BTW...my children opened their savings accounts when the bank was still Wamu, through their schools. The schools and Wamu together were trying to help teach the kids to save!! A teller I spoke with at Chase once, had the audacity to say "I don't know why Wamu opened these stupid accounts". I just about lost it! These people are so unprofessional!! Can not wait until I can get my kids into the bank during branch hours to close their accounts!!! This bank turned into a big joke!!!
I called to inquire about a refinance loan with Chase and the mortgage consultant said she would not be able to provide me any mortgage rates until I provided her with my information. She did inform me there would be a $750 bank fee if I decide to refinance with Chase. Never did she say the fee was nonrefundable. Well in the process of her taking my information she did asked what credit card would I use to charge the bank $750 fee. I told her my Chase Mastercard and proceeded to give her the number. I did inform her I did not have $750 available right now and she said it was okay. After sending me the information regarding mortgage rate she went ahead and charge my mastercard $400 (cash advanced). Never did I authorize for such a transactions. I'm currently having Chase fraud investigate to look into the swindling of my funds from my account.
I AM SENDING OUT A WARNING: DO NOT USE CHASE – IF YOU HAVE THEM, LEAVE THEM. I was a very happy WaMu cc customer. Please note: I was a perfect customer – paid early, paid more than the minimum due…had a 5% interest rate. Chase took over and my interest rate jumped to 26%…? huh? I did nothing wrong. For no reason. THEN, I get a letter that they CLOSED my account…again, for no reason. In the meantime, I’m in the middle of buying a home and Chase is screwing with my credit when I’ve been a flawless cc holder. Lastly? I paid off the entire balance. Next thing I know? I get a statement with finance charges after I already paid my balance in FULL. I called them up – spoke to a supervisor – explained my overall experience — they could care less! They have ROBOTS that work at Chase. They wouldn’t reverse the finance charge, I asked to speak to someone higher and was told to write a letter. I threw up my hands and paid it today and it better finally be over!!! I do not trust Chase Bank – and neither should you!!!! They don't even deserve one star!
Chase has one of the worst customer service departments within the credit industry. They will raise your rates without notifying you, and then flat out lie to you when you call to discuss this with them. They also make it very difficult to close your account with them hoping in return that you will decide against it because of the lengths that you have to go to. I’ve closed my account and would not recommend them to anyone. Stay away from Chase.
WARNING!!!! Do not open an account with this company!
I have had and maintained a credit account in good standing with this company for 3 years. Chase arbitrarily increased interest rates to 30%! Repeated calls as to why and repeated calls to lower the interest rates are fruitless. Typical response is "no lower interest rates are available." No discussion. Period.
There are currently TV commercials promising a great relationship. DO NOT BELIEVE THIS VILE. YOU WILL GET BURNED! And you will soon be paying 30% interest on your purchases.

I wish we could contact the news or even the President about this bank. They have caused me and others so many problems and they lie it's not fair that we can't do anything and have to just push it under the rug.
Chase charges 29.99% on their credit cards and gives 0.01% on their savings accounts, despite what they advertise. Then there are all the additional fees that Chase does not mention anywhere and no answer is provided by anyone as to what the fees are for. I no longer use Chase for anything and moved onto a much better bank, but I know someone who is still with them. Of course, any other bank chosen at random is much better.
As a young person with no prior credit, I began my relationship with Chase in 2007 with my first credit card (their standard, no-frills "platinum" card). I would run up the balance and pay it off, no problem. They recently raised my credit limit and lowered my APR to something south of 17%...And I'm what they would deem an "risky" customer what with my age and lack of credit...
I once received an email from Chase telling me about these rewards points I had unknowingly accrued. After spending these "points", I was dismayed to find charges on my card in real money for the amount of the items. One 10-minute call to the Fraud department later, and the charges were reversed.
Check your account(s) online, and CHECK THEM OFTEN. You will find out about changes in your terms and charges, both legitimate and fraudulent, infinitely faster than if you had to rely on snail mail for your statements. Paperless is so easy to set up, and believe it or not, Chase actually prefers that their customers go paperless. Believe it or not, Chase pays people to stuff those envelopes...
By the way, JPMorgan Chase did not need, nor did they even use the TARP bailout money. There is a reason why they were one of the very first firms to repay it. Paying interest on billions and billions of dollars that you don't even need really sucks...
This is the worst bank I have ever dealt with. The customer service is terrible, at best.
I will stick to Harris, they are absolutely amazing!!!!
Chase as a firm is a joke. They raised my APR without notifying me. I decided to pay off my creditcard because of this matter and they stab me in the back by charging me a finance charge after I paid it off and charged a late fee on top of that. "Customer Service" does not have the authority to reverse late fee charges. At least at Wells Fargo they listen to your reasoning and based on that, they empower their workers to make those decisions to undo late fees; No hassle. You have to constantly watch your Chase account to make sure they don't keep charging you. It's a waste of time. I need something reliable and dependable, and they are not. This firm is money hungry and that is why I chose to no longer use them.
In my opinion all these firms ask for bail outs and we, as tax payers share the pain for their mistakes. When these companies start making profits, these firms reap all the benefits. Do they give back to the tax payers? I have not seen one penny in my pocket from these firms.
..I'm guessing "Mike" works for Chase.
Jeffrey we have all had similiar experiences. Chase uses "bait and switch" tactics.
