We opened our Flexible Rewards Card in 2006 because they offered 5% rewards on grocery and gas. We used this credit card only until this month August 2009 when i saw that they didn't pay the 5% on groceries since September 2007. I wouldn't use this card if i would have known that there is only 1% reward for the past two years. I didn't receive any notice from the change of terms. When i called the customer service they were not able to provide me with any proof that they sent a notice out and the lady was very rude. When i explained her that i would not use the account if i knew the change in terms she immediately asked me if i want to close my account. The Chase Costumer Service is always very bad if you have any problems. They never offer you any solution or compensation. I have other accounts with them and they are never helpful when i call in. I would highly recommend every one to use a Different bank other then Chase.

The notice is most likely on a statement. If they sent you another piece of paper, they would not be very "Green". The reason they want to close it is because the flexible rewards card got phased out and replaced with Chase Freedom card. How would they provide proof they sent you something? Do they need to add tracking to every mail piece sent out. These tend to be done in batches, there is no way to track. You do have 45 days (i believe) to ask for your previous terms when the TOS changes.
