When Citi took my mortgage co. over,I kept the eagle eye on them as making the payments from my escrow account on time. Everything was A+.When we paid the mortgage off ,we were giving a payoff amout including a small processing fee, and in return they notified our homeowners insurance, school and realestate township tax deptartment and the county records dept .They provide step by step info on how and where to send the payoff amount. We did a bank transfer which the fee was $15.00 from our bank and $15.00 fee to citi which we included in the payoff amout. Our escrow was to be returned within 30 days ,they actually return that a week early. We deal mostly with our small county bank in our rural area. But for the big Citi bank, they treated us very pro and were very friendly with effective information. Excellent Transaction CITI AAA+

Never consider any sort of savings with this bank. especially the cd accounts. I was given the notice that I had to either roll over my cd or sign it off to take it out without any penalties on time. I went two months in advance and they said everything would be fine and when the time came it would transfer into another bank account I had so not to worry about it and that no more paperwork was due. No transfers happened. I went in and they said that I had plenty of papers to file, and thus after all of that I would have to pay a fee for drawing my balances out early, which would include all of my interest. Working it out I had the charges dropped but only by going above this local bank. Not only this but many employees contradicted what each one of them said. Not very organized. Not very competent.

Whatever you do, DO NOT GET A HILTON HHONORS VISA SIGNATURE CARD FROM CITIBANK! IF YOU HAVE ONE, DO A CAREFUL REVIEW TO SEE HOW YOU ARE BEING ROBBED! THE POINTS MEAN NOTHING WHEN YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT THEY DO TO YOU. WHY?

One day late on a payment?

$39 late fee
Increased % interest rate to 25.99% because of late payment, and then, the punch line...

Assessed the % rate on the current balance and not on the late balance, therefore the balance is higher and they rob you blind with ridiculous fees.

I am Hilton Platinum traveler, so time is a premium for me. I sat down and calculated it and felt nausea and extreme contempt. About a decade ago, the same thing happened from a Citi issued card. I am canceling my card and will never do business with them again. Additionally, I will not buy products from vendors who use them for financing.

The most incompetent customer service Ive ever dealt with. All the reps Ive dealt with have lied to me and put me to tears. I was approved for a cc that I was supped to get 2 months ago and never received a card. They sent me a new card supposedly overnighted as they say and it has been over a week ...I am yet to receive it. They need to get their act together and not hire people who are unable to do their jobs correctly. No one knows what theyre doing. I advise NEVER EVER to apply for a card through them....they don't deserve your business!

My only experience with Citibank is with their credit cards. I haven't had any bad experiences other than the exorbitant late payment fee ($40).

I wish that I could give them a big, fat ZERO. I have been a loyal customer with Citibank for more years than I can count. I used to sing praises to everyone I know about how good the bank was....until recently.

I have no idea what Citibank's agenda is now but it really appears to be screwing over the customer. I have had SEVERAL unexplained charges to my account over the past eight months that I have had to call or go in to a branch to have cleared up.

This last time, was the last straw. I feel that I should not have to constantly fight with my bank about MY money that I have worked hard for.

The killer for me was when I called to get the matter cleared up, the young lady that I spoke with was so uncaring about the situation then she had the audacity to say "We appreciate your business" I lost it there because there is no way you can appreciate my business and continue to try to ROB me blind.

I'm now in the process of opening a new account elsewhere and I will be closing BOTH of my Citibank accounts within the next week.

Too bad they don't value their customers.

Citibank is an awful predatory outfit. They stick me with additional charges and fees on my card all the time. It is no surprise their inefficient accounting practices led to their needing a government handout! In the past, they have been in legal trouble for abusing the disabled with their predatory lending--shame on Citi!!

I have some accounts here because I've had Citigroup stock for years. I wish I'd sold it before it went into the tank, but.......

Citibank's systems are horrible, and renewing a CD a few weeks ago was a chore. Seems that it's a major project to do almost anything at Citibank--everything takes extra steps and, while the people are friendly, some aren't trained well at all.

So long as I have "C" stock and the bank pays more interest (which makes sense because Citibank is viewed as more risky), I'll probably continue to have deposits at Citibank.

At one time, Citibank was excellent--a strong bank that was marketing oriented and innovative. But after it became "Citigroup" and tried to be like some kind of financial department store, the bank began doing more things poorly instead of fewer things well.

I believe that compared with Wells Fargo, Citibank is a mismanaged, substandard mess.

Start charging monthly fee of $9.50 for my free checking account in 01/2009 and $34.00 overdrawn fee without notifying me the fee change. Refuse to reverse the charge and I have to pay the $43.50 to close accounts. We better stay away from a near failing bank. They will do anything to milk some short term gain.
