This review is from Citizens Bank

I was with Citizens Bank for 6+ years and I am very happy today that I closed the account and found another bank. I have had issues with Citizens in the past but I kept giving them more chances...not by choice since it's hard for me to get to a bank in the first place.

The first issue I had was after having my account for one year. I deposited money into the ATM and someone else deposited an empty envelope. Different deposit amount, different account #s and different hand writing but citizens messed up and took out my money. I got a call from Citizens bank from a very rude woman that mentioned I had committed an illegal act by falsely depositing money. A day later, they found out the error was on the bank side but it took two weeks for me to get my money back? How does that work? There was never an apology nothing.

Clearly I should have left the bank when I had this issue. Almost two weeks ago I had un-authorized charges to my account, I was very disappointed when I noticed Citizens re-arranged my withdrawals to maximize my overdraft fees. I figure no big deal, I will go to the bank and get this straighted out. because I wasn't supposed to have those charges in the first place.

The customer support was horrible to say the least! I wanted to close my account and open and new one because of the fraudulent charges, but they wouldn't do that, they did however help me cut my card...that was about it. When I asked about the charge they told me I should get my money back but i would not be getting my $429.00 back in over draft fees even though I didn't authorize the charges.

Talking about kicking a person when they are down. Some how, someone stole my debit card number, charged things without my authorization and you are going to keep the over draft fees? Does that seem right to you?

Bye Bye Citizens...I would think twice about opening an account here. It's one thing to not watch what you are spending, it's another to get your money "stolen" and than the bank taking advantage of you...Talk about kicking you while you are down!
