Don't do it. I have been a Colonial Bank customer since college 10 years ago and wanted to maintain that relationship but I have gotten screwed over and over. First my purse was stolen with my checkbook and although I told them the last check I had written, they allowed 10 checks to clear that were fraudulent because they filled out the paperwork incorrectly. I still get notices from Walmart about bad checks that I didn't write. Every time I have to send them a copy of the police report. They just sent the check back as bounced rather than as a fraudulent check.

When I did close my account, there were still letting bogus ACH debits hit my account and I got a notice from Colonial three weeks after I closed the account that I owed them 156$ or they would report it on my credit report. Why would they let anything go through a closed account!!!!!!!
