Equifax Reviews

I have been trying to get them to cancel my service and they keep giving me a run around on what I need to do. I am tired of this game with them. They are not what they say they are! BEWARE Do not fall for there scam!
I tried to sign up for their free, on line credit report. It was a hellish experience. Needless to say I never got it, I suspect that they will charge me anyway. Their telephone representatives speak broken English, are combative, will not answer a direct question and border on abusive. I never got a straight answer whether they would charge my debit card after the 30 day free trial period. Their internet ad was blatant false advertising. No free credit report at all. Just a bait and switch. The authorities need to crack down on this operation.

I used Equifax 3-in1 monitoring for about 2 years and recently cancelled the service. I found that they were usually very slow to alert me to new accounts in my name or to credit card limit thresholds that I had setup. For example, I added a new credit card account and it took Equifax two months to alert me! If that had been a fraudulent account I would have had a mess to clean up. However, the biggest reason I cancelled was because I asked Equifax to charge their monthly fee to a different credit card (so I could close an old account). After 5 months (and many phone calls) they continued to charge the wrong account - so they bascally were commmitting the same fraud they were suppposed to protect against. Avoid them!

After years of being afraid to get my credit report, I finally contacted Equifax and got a real view at my finances. The report was easy to get (they give you an option to get it through snail mail or email!). And they made it real easy to dispute some strange things that had showed up on my account.
