A retched archaic company that doesn't care one bit about the customer. They don't provide any ability to recieve digital notifications of when there is a problem on your account so you end up going days and days accumulating their $6 overdraft fees. Who the hell doesn't provide those services these days? This is the information age - put the information at the hands of the customers so they can effectively manage their finances!!! In the end they came out with $176 of charges for a simple oversight on my part that shouldn't have cost more than $33.

I think it is ridiculous that they charge you overdraft fees on your pending charges. Biggest scam ever.

I was charged for 6 overdraft items and they returned two items, but I ended up with a daily balance of 1.07???!!!??? How can I have a positive daily balace but aquire over 300 dollars worth of fees from overdraft and returned items? Customer service treats me like I'm stupid for not having lots of money. Transactions are rearranged to MAXIMIZE their fee collection. Completely unfair, I'm shopping for a new bank now.

Fifth Third bank has been by far the worst banking experience I have ever had. I opened a checking account with them november of last year. At first they were great. I think I only had one overdraft fee due to them charging me to withdrawl money out of my savings. So I figured ok no biggie so I opened a checking account. WOW worst mistake of my life. Even worse then accidently burning down my house with a cigarette. I have had a total of $3,000 in overdraft fees. And they are clever about them too. See I had just switched jobs and wasn't enrolled in the direct deposit for a whole 2 weeks. I deposited my check every saturday and went to paying bills. What they would do is take all the large bills post them to my account first then the small ones. So for instance looking at an old statement I had a $200 balance. I needed to pay a $110 phone bill and an $89.00 insurance payment. I deposit my check for $610 on saturday. Withdrawl $20 here, $20 there, $10 somewhere else. THAT DAY!. Sunday is when my online auto withdrawls were taken. Sure enough they take the sunday payments to get rid of my balance. Then charge me with 3 overdraft fees. Not so bad? Well then they take it out of my savings. So I got in and ask the simple question "Why didn't you just take the required money out of my savings in the first place to cover the withdrawls?" They say because I don't have Overdraft protection. To me it's a load of BS. They can take money for my overdrafts from my savings but they can't just avoid them in the first place? Whatever. I have finally got all my other accounts set up and ready so I'll go in there tomorrow withdrawl all but one penny from my "TOTALLY FREE CHECKING" and let them spend money sending me statements every month.

I have been with 53rd since 2005. I have had some minor issues with them, but nothing too major. One issue I did have with them is that they overcharged me for overdraft fees and would only refund them to me if I opened a savings account tied to my checking account for overdraft protection. I am now glad I did this but at the time I felt manipulated and controlled and I did not like that at all. I let corporate know that as well and did receive an apology. I also was told that this was not company policy to force people to open up accounts. The manager that did this has since left the company.

This bank is absolutley ridiculous!! The manager at my local branch has her head so far up her wazoo she can't even help me get my account straight. I have relied on the online banking to be correct and it apparently never is. Just less than a month ago, I was charge over $500 in overdraft fees for items on my statement that had already been posted, and this manager wanted to see my register to see where "I made the mistake"... I told her that I rely on the online banking, and she said that it isn't correct... Why the heck is it out there if it isn't right??? Now, here it is a month later, and they have done the same thing to me. I am a single parent, and I live paycheck to paycheck, and the last thing I need is someone holding on to my money, and charging me for taking it!! They are once again trying to charge me $534 for items already posted, when I only overdrawn by very little. I DO NOT recommend that anyone bank here what-so-ever... If you want to lose your money then more power to you!! I am better off cashing checks at Kroger and giving them $10 to do so!!!

Overdraft Fees are outrageous..

Nothing more than being robbed by your Bank!!

83 cents overdrawn & charged $37.00
even with cash sitting in another account with them..
I would advise anyone to do business else where as a customer of 14 years I would not tell anyone to get ripped off by them!!!!!!

Ah yes, the Overdraft National Bank. I would rather sever my arm with a chainsaw than do banking with them for one more day. Their banking is set up so that any overdraft crates several overdrafts. Not to mention, if you deposit a check, only $100 is available. If you get cash back from that check, the $100 goes to your cash back. Everything is based from your "available" balance. Then they deduct any pending items, and post items largest to smallest instead of in the order they were made. This creates more overdrafts, so more fees for them. They are shady people who will not get any more of my business.
