A horrible experience with a horrible bank. I opened a free checking account with them and closed it since I didn't need an account with this bank anymore. To this day, I am getting a huge number of calls from the collection agency about a payment that had been processed after the account had been closed. I have nothing against this incident since it seems sensible. What I have a problem with is, I have sent a check to the branch I opened an account with, with the amount that I owe, and the collection agency is still on my tail about that amount. I even received a call from that branch saying that they have received the check. I am getting really irritated by fifth-third. How irresponsible of them to neglect their former customer. Sometimes I doubt that the people employed at fifth-third are qualified professionals. If this continues, I hope they realize how easy it is for a bank to go bankrupt.
