I would NOT use HR Block to do my tax again. We have used them once. And we did the second look as well. The lady told us if we file Amendent for last year we would get more money back from the IRS. So we did. It cost us 275 dollars to do the Amendent. Few months later, after not receiving anything I called the IRS. They told me we werent suppose to get more money for the year 2007. I have tired many many times to contact the HR Block office. And no one is there during the summer months. I want my $275 back!!!

Warning, do not use H & R Block tax software. My husband is a CPA and our taxes are not complex. The program did not work correctly and could not calculate our refund accurately. After inserting all the information, the final report stated we owned 4 independant companies and owed a ton of money. My husband and I are both employed and do not own one single company. We tried calling for technical support, but they were of no help and told us we would need to pay them an additional $200 for help. We ended up purchasing Turbo Tax (which we have used with no problems for the past 3 years). Again, do not waste your time and or money with H & R Block.

they charged me 200 dollars to process my taxes... during the process they told me i didn't qualify for EIC and i questioned that... they didn't give it to me... after i called, a week later, they called me back and said "oh ! we looked over your taxes and you should be getting EIC". so i went in and they told me " well, you're gonna have to wait 4-6 weeks to get this, but it's just money that you wouldn't be getting anyway! " they made it sound like they were getting me some kind of BONUS !" keep in mind that this is mone i was owed ... then i went back in to question my local and found out that they overcharger me by 70 dollars ... all together they lost me $2,000 that i still haven't recieved as of 4/11 and i filed on 2/13 ... all said and done they told me they would send me a certificate for $50 off my fee for next year... so far i've called 4 offices and all of them refuse to give me a corporate number where i can reach an actual person... severely dissappointed.

These a$$holes are a bunch of con-artists!

#1) They advertise for $49 per return.
#2) The gouge me for $175 when the guy takes 20 minutes to enter some numbers.
#3) They advance me my return on a "debit" card with service-fee's up the wall. $1.99 per transaction, $8 inactivity fee, $2.50 to check your balance on the phone, etc.

To get my money I had to make 3 separate withdraws from an ATM (ATM withdraw limit), then walk to my bank and deposit cash.

Of course ATM's only dispense multiples of $20, so I've got $19 that I can't access unless I "buy" something worth $17 (don't forget that $1.99 transaction fee).

OMG! I will NEVER use these jackasses again! I was hoping to pay a little more for a professional service, but got load-sharked and steam-rolled instead. H&R Block is a bunch of crooks!

Im certain H&R Block are good at preparing taxes but dont fall into the Refund Anticipation Loan trap. I only went there to get my taxes back faster and was not approved. By the time I knew I was not approved it was to late and I still had to wait 8 to 10 days. I could have done this myself for free. Now i'll be out the gigantic fee when I could have serviced myself the same way and paid nothing. H&R Block got money for providing me a service I could have done myself.
