My car was damaged by a Peerless insured. Bad enough to have an accident, but to have to deal with this company is a disaster! It took them 34 days to even decide if they would accept liability with all the information clearly showing their insured at fault - and then I only found out about it because I stopped in the body shop to see if they'd heard anything from Peerless. The claims personnel have been rude and unpleasant to deal with, they were extremely rude to the gal at the body shop. I could go on for pages with the problems this claim has had due to Peerless' incompetence and lack of anything resembling 'customer service'. It has now been almost 4 months since the accident and I am still trying to get them to pay for the repairs to my car. They want to 'total' the car and take $1200 off the repair bill - even though the repairs are less than the value of the car. And, of course, they refuse to value the car appropriately and refuse to discuss this issue at all. It has to be 'their way or no way' and their way is to try to weasel out of paying! What a scam - stay away from these crooks! Extemely bad claims handling - they don't deserve even one star rating.

I was in a "Hit and run" accident 7 days ago.
I have called,left messages even sent emails.
They have still not done an estimate.
My father called also on my behalf and he was given a number that was disconnected.
It seems as though they are giving us the run around big time.
I still have no idea if my car has been totaled or not.
Peerless does not seem to be a legit company.

Not policy holder; my truck was totaled(probably) by driver who was. It's been ten days and still not even estimate of damages or if truck is totaled or not.

I would also give them a 0. I had them for 2 years without any claims. One morning I woke up to find out that my neighbor had totaled my car that was parked in my driveway earlier that morning. Peerless took forever to process any paperwork and then upped my insurance over $100/month after the "accident". I was never even in the car!!! I dropped the insurance and went with another company and since then they have debited $91 from my account twice......and I don't even have them for an insurance carrier anymore! I haven't been able to get refunded yet and it has been about 1 month since I dropped my policy with them. I am now put in the position of changing my banking information so that they do not keep withdrawing money that I may not get refunded. Oh and also, I paid extra every month for a rental car policy and when I was without a car, I was told I could not use my rental car feature because it was not up to them to pay for the rental car, it was up to my neighbor's insurance. Well, to make a long story short, I was only allotted a short time period of rental from my neighbor's policy, was left without a car, no rental after 1 week and a MASSIVE policy increase because of my "accident". DO NOT go through this company. You will regret it!

Why can't I rate them 0?
It's been over 2 weeks since my accident and the rep just lies about everything while denying the damage. The adjuster is worthless and is incompetent. While my car is in pieces at the body shop.
NEVER give up your independent insurance agent, they will deal with the mess. I'm dropping Peerless as soon as I get my car back--maybe after another week or 2! I've only been a customer since Oct.

Thirty days and have not recieved check for auto reimursement on an not at fault accident. Refused to reimurse for rent a car for this time. Would never recommend insuring through this company.
