Reading some of these reviews, I can understand why some people would be upset, but it would appear if you balanced your checkbook and paid your loans, you would not have these problems. I have has problems in the past but every time I brought it to the banks attention, it was resolved. All of these problems that people have complained about would have happened at any bank. Regions is a good solid bank that the goverment has asked for a second time to take on another failing bank. The goverment has placed it's trust in Regions maybe everyone else should.
I hate regions bank. I bought a car from them almost 5 yrs ago for 13,500. I have hit hard times lately so I got behind on the payments for a little while, but caught it back up last month. They still call me every day or two about this damn car. I only owe 500 bucks on this pos. They are not going to lose any money on this car, no matter what, at this point. Every time they call me again about the payment, it makes me want to sell it to the scrap metal place down the street for 50 bucks and tell regions to screw off. I have to mail my payments to Alabama, even though there are at least 4 Regions banks within 2 miles of my house. If I pay by phone, they charge me $20 for the privilege. They don't even offer online payments. WTF is going on with this bank. I hope they go out of business.
I have been working with Regions since July of 2008 trying to get proof that I no longer have a lein against my 1995 Suzuki...paid it off in 1998...lost the title in Katrina and can't get another copy until this lein is removed. According to the idiots and dunderheads at Regions, the VIN number for my car is for a car that has never been in existance.....yet I pulled it off the internet in 2 minutes and got a copy from CARFAX. I am currently contacting an attorney and Bank Regulators because these morons are not doing their job.
Sarahjames... People can add and keep up with their checking account, its the greedy ass bank popping up with all these fees. Regions is the only damn bank that charges someone $ 5.00 to cash a check over $ 150.00. So before you call people dumb, read all the comments about Regions you Dumb Ass!
I had applied for a commercial loan with Regions in St.Louis to purchase the PROPERTY that I have my business in.
Regions kept trying to say that I was trying to do a business loan to purchase the business. WRONG...WRONG, I AM the business and the last time I checked, I already own me. But, get the Assistant Vice President for Sba Loans to get that through his head is another story.
He worked on this for three months and kept coming back to me for something else that he needed that I had ALREADY given him.
During the whole process, it was one excuse after another.
Finally, after my Real estate agent talked with him and asked to see how many loans had been produced for the last quarter from Regions in St.Louis, He had a long silence and said he would get that as soon as possible.
THE NEXT DAY, he calls me and tells me that unfortunately, the "underwriters" declined my loan and couldn't give me a reason.
This is also after he went through all of the hoopla by bringing over the branch Manager for the Bank closest to me to meet me and to tell me that his bank is where I would be doing all my business at. The irony of all of this is, I went to another Bank and had given them the EXACT SAME PACKAGE that I had given Regions and they had it for three weeks. I was APPROVED right away. Bottom line.... Regions is known for what is called "RED LINING" clients.
They also purposly keep you hanging because they want the intrest rate to rise BEFORE they grant a loan.
I have already filed a Formal complaint with the BBB as well as the Securities Exchange Commission regarding Regions Banking practices.
My advice to ANYONE looking for a loan wether it be a Home loan, commercial, or auto, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. REGIONS isn't worth the sweat out of a dead persons backside. They're rude, arrogant, not to mention, INCOMPITENT. If I could give a lower rating than zero, I would.
REGIONS SUCKS BIG TIME.
I paid my car off on September 15th and STILL cannot get my title. I have called and called but they keep sending me notzrized papers saying they no longer have a lien on the vehicle.
I paid for a title ap when I purchased the car and Regions LOST the title so they want me to take their little piece of paper to the court house and pay for another title which I refuse to do.
Either they replace the title at their expense or I WILL file a complaint with the Fed!
Regions used to be a good bank but since the merger it's pathetic to see how little they think of their customers.
Regions has been an EXCELLENT bank to work with. We do all of our banking and investing with them.
I have had a savings account with Regions for roughly 3 years. At first it was great! Then I would find myself in a bind and need to withdrawl from my savings account. This caused me to go over the monthly allotment of withdrawls and they charged me a fee. I had asked the ladies at the bank if there would have been such fees previous to opening a savings account and they said there would be no fees.
This was obviously before they switched to new rules. They then failed to inform me of the changes and racked up enough charges to pull my account into the negative without my knowledge.
I now have a savings account with my fiance and it helps us to not spend the money but it draws very little interest.
I have been with Regions serval yrs and the last year I have notthing but problems. I have started printing my account from internet the past serval months everyday. Everyone should try this. It changes unreal everyday. We live pay check to pay check and they seem to be getting most of it. An example, a check will clear, a week later the same check will be deposited back in, sent back a few days later and bounced when the account gets low and its aways after they take the nsf out. I am collecting everyday prints and then getting lawyer. Oh yes, I wrote check from one account Friday afternoon to my other account, will will not deposit until Monday night at midnight, so there goes another nsf with them. I am sick, sick sick of their greedy tactics. So you bank with REGIONS you should go to online banking with them everyday and see the daily changes with you money.
Rating I;
'm currently a customer at one of the Regions branches and have banked at the same bank through the various mergers for nearly 18 years. Recently, two of my accounts were closed due to someone committing fraud and impersonating me. I have faced hurdles to regain ownership of my property. It's hard for me to fathom that a bank of this size would have such gaps in YOUR security as well as YOUR policy & procedures.
I entrusted my financial resources to YOUR bank and expected that they would be safe, but that was not the case. For many of my questions regarding the illegal activity that took place, I can't seem to get any answers. It seems to be business as usual for you and more so it's my problem. I'm utterly appalled and feel as if my privacy has been invaded. And to think this situation was created because a Regions' Customer Service Representative (CSR) failed to meet the expectations of her job.
The CSR transferred money from my account based "solely" on a phone conversation she had with someone who "pretended" to be me. The CSR closed my accounts based solely on that conversation. The CSR didn't know who was on the phone as identification couldn't have been provided(it wasn't me). The CSR didn't dial the phone # that led to the conversation she was having with the person on the phone. However, the CSR took action without proper authorization from me.
There are many things the CSR could have done to prevent this huge mistake, but it didn't happen. CSR simply took the word of the customer requesting access to my accounts and literally gave her the keys to the kingdom. As far as I know the CSR may have shared my SSN with these people. Identity theft is running rampant and to know that your bank employs people who do not follow procedures, or who are not properly trained, or that you have weak security measures is not a good selling point for you.
Needless to say it has been several days since the acted occurred and my accounts are still closed and my financial resources have not been returned to me. Prior to this event I had been very satisfied with the service provided by Regions. After this, my thoughts are very different. I plan to alert people in the several states (via various outlets) about the gaps in your policies and procedures and also tell them how you failed to move expeditiously.
Butterfly,
You are so incorrect! Alot of banks charge 5.00 to cash checks. Alot of banks will not even cash your check if you don't have an account with them ! You are the dumb *****!
