This review is from Regions Bank
The shame of all this is that years ago, AmSouth bought First American Bank in Nashville, a quality group for over 70 years. My wife was one of management handling loan portfolios across 9 states. THEN, Regions bought AmSouth. Mar 12, 2009 while only working as a partime branch employee, was called in and laid off....Not for the money because it was a pittance of what her FANB salary was. It was the way her release was. We think age played a role but then HR told her they were going to tell everyone it was "her" decision to leave not the bank's!!!! Talk about a morale downer...this bank does not understand that people work for a lot more than money...their jobs become a large part of their lives. Just because this bank wrote 6.4 billion in bad loans in the 4th qtr of 08, the employees have to pay the price!!! How many "top guns" got laid off? How many took salary cuts? How many "golden parachutes" remain eating at the profitability of this bank? What a sorry, sorry bunch of people....If only the news media got wind of how they were treating their older employees, I would be surprised if any accts at all would remain! There will be many many over 59-1/2 aged people cut during March 09 folks who have made valuable contributions to the bank...Why O why did the feds let these clowns cross state lines? What happened to the good old local banks?
