Regions was a good bank 15 years ago when I started my business and they were my lending source. AmSouth bought Regions and kept the Regions name. All Regions folks were dismissed and a new regime with new plans for huge profit making came into power. They are money grabbers and everyone they do business with is pennied and dollared to a point that only creates only a little complaining here and there. The economic crash that suddenly came on the scene has put Regions in a position of near collapse and I say "it couldn't happen to a better bunch of folks". This is one bank that needs to go down the drain. The upper management of any large corporation create the culture of the company and the policies with which they operate. You cannot tell the bank's underlying culture by walking into a branch and meeting the tellers who are all smiles. The unapparent fees, the language in their documents for loans and leases, the length of time they say it takes for your check to clear are all ways they make huge dollars from the millions of customers they are supposedly "serving". Don't ever expect to compare banking of the old days to banking of today. Regions is a money grubber like no other and I would delight in seeing them go away forever...but...the good ole boys who run it, unfortunately will breed in other institutions and we, as the general public, will always have to deal with them somewhere. Today more than ever, there are lots of so called "professionals" out there competing for mine and your hard earned dollars. Need to borrow? Go online and try LOANOE or some other new offering in the marketplace with less devisive tactics. GO AWAY REGIONS!
