I had a horrible experience with Regions and am at a loss as to how to fix it. The way that they charge their overdraft fees is just absurd. I over drafted by $5.38 but due to the system knowing I was going to overdraft on the pending transaction it began charging overdraft fees as things in the pending file began to go to the cleared file. I took responsibility for the overdraft and saw one charge of $33, so I made a cash deposit thinking that was the end of it. I checked the account 2 days later and had $204 in overdraft fees!!! All of this over a $5.38 charge. Due to them knowing I was going to over draft in the end they charge the fee to the acct on the first item that clears, so that all the items after get charged a fee as well. By the time they got around to charging me for the last item, the one that was the actual overdraft I was being charged a higher rate for overdrafts that I began with. Called customer service, got nowhere, went to a branch and the manager told me I was "too emotional" to speak to him, and told me i was wrong. ... Someone please tell me how it is sane to charge a customer $204 in fees for a $5.38 charge??????
