Rate SunTrust Bank

I currently use Suntrust and have once worked for a bank. Suntrust does not charge any crazy charges. All of their charges are standards. The charges are set, not for them to make money, but to set regulations. Of course a person will get charged NSF fees if there is not any money in the account. What most of the people on this review board do not realize is what the workers at Suntrust have to… deal with. Customers come in all of the time trying to do something underhanded and expect the teller to do it anyways, and then that person becomes upset when the teller will not do the transaction. The realization is that banks have to deal with fraud and the regulations are there to protect the bank from failing. Then the people come onto sites like this and tell how horrible they were treated. I can almost guarantee that these people were trying to do something they knew was not allowed.

I will not go into the gory details, but suffice it to say, this bank is an absolute nightmare to deal with. I have worked for banks in the past and keep my financial life in good shape. I have been treated like trash by this bank several times, while having proof in hand they made a mistake. I stopped dealing with them and will never go back. My advice is to go somewhere else for your banking …needs.

My name is Bill. I have had a SunTrust Home Equity line of credit for 10 years on two different homes. Never had any issues with repayment. Then received a letter they were cutting us off. They sent me a letter stating I could send them a letter to appeal this decision. I did that. Then they called me and told me they would not discuss the change with me unless I paid one of their approve…d appraisers $240. What is the the chance one of their appraisers is going to over turn their decision? I am very disappointed with Suntrust. I was happy up until now. My family has a savings, checking and home equity account with them. We will be closing them all and no longer conduct business with Suntrust.

Francisco, are you joking me? You are tellng us stories you heard from a friend? lol If you don't have personal experience with the bank, it makes no sense that you are writing a review for it. By the way, ALL banks have NSF charges and they are all the same. I'm sure there are banks that are better than Sun Trust, but I am happy with them and I have experienced banks *personally* that have b…een a lot worse. They tend to be very friendly and happy to help, which is a very nice thing. When I have walked into Wachovia in the past all their tellers look like someone peed in their cornflakes. They look genuinly miserable and have no real desire to help me with my banking needs. Sun Trust is MUCH better than that. Next time Fancisco, please stick to writting reviews about things you actually know about.

I have a checking, money market account as well as a mortgage and home equity line with SunTrust bank and have been very happy with their service. I do not experience fees through SunTrust Bank that I wouldnt get anywhere else. Obviously if you overdraw your account and spend money you dont have, they are going to charge you fees, but they are very fair. Would strongly recommend to others. As f…or the gentleman that left the previous comment, I feel you should only comment on personal experience that you have had, not what your friends have told you. Do they overdraw the account? do they make payments on time? You dont know what they do to incur these fees so you probably shouldnt comment on it.

after hearing a lot of horror stories from my friends about SunTrust bank, I decided to write a review here to warn their potential customers. many people have told me that their fees are horrible and they will find every way they can to charge you fees. also watch out for their NSF charges as well. if you have any experience, please share.
