The worst bank of all. They say they offer 5 star service guaranteed. I think all the stars fell off. This bank offers nothing except for stealing their customers money especially in overdraft fees. You have money on your account, but they will still tell you that you don't and will charge you almost $40 dollars for every single penny you use.

There are a few things you should know about US Bank. First of all FREE Checking does not me free. They charge you analyze fee every other month. Mine has been as high as $38.00. Also there nationwide customer service cannot help you with everything you may need because some decisions are handled by your local branch manager, so if you have not been sweet talking her, you better watch out because she will be making decisions about your account.

thats actually untrue. If you are charged an analyze fee then you have signed up for it. If you want to discontinue the analyze fee, all you have to do is call and talk to your branch manager or personal banker. The free checking is absolutely free unless you overdraw your account. Just trying to help you save some money.
This US Bank needs a new name like
WE Screw U with a slogan like " come bank with us and your money is safe with us and only us. Possesion is 9 tenths of the law.
How in the world is this bank getting good reviews here? Plain and simple this bank is run by a bunch of thieves. Very shady and mysterious overdraft fees and innacurate online banking. Stay away from this bank. Do a web search and you will find hundreds of complaints from people that got ripped off by US Bank. I hope someone is investigating their practices.

I've had a basic checking account with USBank for a few years now, and overall the experience has been good. Not great, but good. They tend to be attentive to customer concerns (especially once, when I disputed a charge to the check card), which is nice. The bank is a good one, but the account I have doesn't offer too many benefits, but what do you expect from a basic checking account? Just don't overdraft, like most banks they'll make you regret it (though overdraft protection is a nice feature of this bank).

I like US Bank, because they have quality service and tell you the details upfront. I have had some problems with overdraft charges and not being able to open an account until age 18, but overall they are a reliable company. They offer reward cards, let you pay bills online, and offer a wide range of services. They are a good, simple bank.

USBank sucks!!!!!
They charged me $75 for writing 5 to many checks. One of them was for $1.70.
They also charged me $15 for checks in the past, I thought it was a fee for sending money online to someone. Nope!!!
They charge $3.95 for a plastic Christmas gift charge.
If you do business with this garbage company, you had better read the fine
print in everything they send you.
They screw up and get bailed out by the FEDS!!!!! We pay for their stupidity!!!!!!

Actually, US Bank was not "bailed out" by the "feds." They participated in the TARP program and when they realized what the government was trying to do, they passed a stress test allowing them to pay back every penny early proving that they are a very strong and stable financial institution. And if you are referring to $3.95 gift card charge.. everyone charges a fee for those. Most are higher, and its not even charged by the bank, but by Visa. Oh, and if you don't have money in your account, you shouldn't be writing checks off of it.
US Bank used the TARP funds to purchase Downey Savings Bank and PFF Bank. Shortly after, US Bank paid back the TARP funds borrowed. US Bank is now in the process of purchasing nine more small banks... adding approx 150 more branches in US Bank's footprint.
P.S. Just because you have checks left in your check book does not mean that you have money in your account in which to write checks with.

My mortgage was assigned to US Bank. I was notified of that after I made my December payment to Wachovia on 11/14. It is 12/26 and I'm still waiting for US Bank to fix my account. They have applied my payment, debited it, then put it in suspense and send me late notices and call me telling me my payments is late and then deny calling me.
They are holding $1300 of my money in suspense and have sent me 6 bills in the mail for my December payment already made in November. Each statement is different. I have over 20 letters each from different people stating differernt things and they still don't have it right. They talk to me on the phone like I'm trash and they are tolerating me. There is no customer service, no one knows what they're doing. This bank is a joke. I didn't choose it, I had no choice!!!

I signed up for a US bank Checking account/Debit card at a local grocery store location when they were running a promo to get $75 in groceries at that store for new account holders. I have never been sorry.
I never did request paper checks. I just use the debit card. US Bank has an awesome rewards program attached to its debit card. Most are with online retailers, but some are with B&M retail stores. I always check to see if the retailer has a connection with the US bank rewards program before I make a purchase. They have a 10% cash back at one retailer I use quite often.
The checking acount and debit card are free and I have earned back money from purchases that I would not have without the account.
