i can't even chose a rating for this bank it is completely a rip off. I have paid to date 680.00 in overdraft fees and when i spoke to them they say it's the merchant not putting items through, and i said really but you are charging 34.00 everytime? I haven't even had my account open a year and i am sure when i go to close it next week they are going to charge me for that. Has anyone filed a class action lawsuit? Let me know because i will be seeing an attorney over this bank. Get this they offered to refund 34.00 and once i took their online course i would get another 34.00. So out of a whole 680.00 i get 68.00?

I never heard of woodforest as I come from the west coast. But recently I moved to the east coast for certain reasons and have been STRUGGLING to find a job. I saw that woodforest was hiring and I'd figure I go for it since I had a few years of customer service. At the very beginning I was told, If hired, it will be a looooong process. Wrong, I was interviewed monday by the bank manager, interviewed wednesday by the regional and offered a full-time job with a NICE paycheck. I was thinking "SCORE!!" I was told it was mandatory to open a bank account since i will soon be representing the bank and I'm thinking "No problem". Well, My soon to be coworker and I were going over the information and a little fast if i should say. I went home thinking about my bank account and decided that I should look over the fine print. $32 overdraft fee.. $5 every day after that!! I'm sorry, I'm just use to the fact that if you had money in either of the checking or savings it would automatically transfer over. $2 bank account inquiry if you call into an actual branch (WHAT!!!). $2 ATM fee at any other bank ATM other than Woodforest... not to mention that is on top of the $3 that the other ATM is charging you. I bank with two other banks... Wells fargo being one of them. I was never charged $5 to withdraw money at another institution.... only if the ATM I was withdrawing from charged me it's fee. And my other bank, they (because the lack of actual banks and ATM with them) will refund my money back! And I continue reading.... $25 to close your account out before 180! Wow... kick in the stomach. The thing that got me was this... once you deposit you're money, for whatever reason known only to the manager, they CAN and in a lot of cases will hold your money. The sketchy part is that they are suppose to tell you you're money is on hold (Up to 14 business days) and the date of availability. I researched and most of the time you're led to believe that the money that you see in your account IS YOURS, right? nope, you'll soon get a letter IN THE MAIL (Kidding me right?) saying "Oh, by the way- it will look like you have the money but we put it on hold until this date" AFTER YOU SPENT IT on necessary to bills or whatever (It's your money... spend it however you want... if they ALLOW you to). Then you will be over-drafted $32 and $5 everyday until you pay up. Sketchy, huh? I've read a lot of people's reviews... "No, they're a good bank and/or I work for them and this is not how it is!" I spent 2 days w/ these people and you cannot believe the **** they whisper to each other behind YOUR back. For example, regional manager was running his mouth about "trash" banking with woodforest and every friday they (the trash) come to cash their Social security checks... then they whip out their cell phones that are nicer than his (the regional manager's). He goes on talking about how our tax-payer dollars are going to them. My eyes nearly popped out of my head! And THEN he goes on explaining that we need to advertise to them (the trash) and recruit them into our bank because they will flock to us with second chance banking. wow. He also talked about another co-worker saying that he can't believe he hired her due to her lack of common sense. Now, you may tell me: All woodforest banks are not like that! Well, most are... and they shouldn't be, period. They are a nation-wide company and growing fast. Needless to say I'm in the process of trying to close my account with them and I turned down that nice hourly wage paycheck that your overdraft fees are paying for. I've never wrote a bad check and i haven't over-drafted often but I will not trust MY MONEY with this so-called bank. Banker beware!

Woodforest bank is fradulently causing customer to have overdraft items, they hold the items until you have charged your full balance and they wait for you to go 1 penny over and all the charges no matter how small become overdraft charges. 17 misc charges @ $34 a pop. This bank is preying on causing the financial hardship of their customers I am filing a class action suit some how and will be submitting complaints to the federal trade commission regarding their unfair practices.

This bank sucks!! I had like $12.something yesterday on my card, I know thats not alot, but i bought a meal and that cost about $10.00, now 1-day later my bank says that i'm overdrawn, and that I have $ -47.65. Negative 47.65! I'm kinda new to this bank and they're already trying to screw me over. Now I have to switch banks because I should'nt have to pay what I did'nt spend!

Our business does credit card processing throught them. We pay $15 per month. When we inquired about cancelleing the service, they debited our bank account $495.00. If we paid the $15 per month until the 3 year (we were told it would be month-to-month) contract, the amount would have been about $200.00 I would rather pay our attorney $1000 before they pull this blatant scam. Are there any class action lawsuits against Woodforest that I can join?

This is the worst bussiness I have ever delt with. Their faulty ATM stole $240.00 from me. It took them 14 days to handle an internal dispute. I am on video...I recieved no money and they denied my claim. The Woodforest Bank has stolden $240.00 from me and charged me $68.00 in INS fees. They say the funds were dispensed as per the recipt !!!! Of course the recipt says that that is the reason for the dispute !! I live on unemployment. Can I file a police report for this theft ?

Woodforest Bank is a repulsive bank. I recommend to do your utmost to try and work with other banks. The management staff has the inabilty to adapt and there are times a manager canot be found to overide a check. Customer service is apalling and cant do nothing for you. The bank sends checks through that have no singnatures on them. Line level staff has no authority to make a decsion in the absence of one of thier poor leaders. You can not do a deposite in one of thier ATM at anytime because they dont want to pay for the service , and then your are charged fee after fee. Please stay away from this banks would be my best advice.

My experiance with Woodforest Bank is vile. This bank at times doesnt have a manger at hand to overide a pay check over $1000.00. Woodforest rapes thier clients to the fulliest on fees by holding items. Customer service cant make a decision you have to go into a branch and speak with one of the managers. They say your direct deposite is a day earlier, which is false. They false advertise and much of thier staff is rude and crude. Some of the staff doesnt know the products Woodforest offers. When you use another ATM you can be charged $5 to take your money out when Woodforest doesnt have any local or free standing ATM any where in the north except at Wal-Mart, the other snakes. You are charged a $5 fee which will throw your balance off and then they charge you a $34 OD fee. My experiance is to try and avoid Woodforest at all costs.

A horrible company to bank with, and an even worse company to work for! They not only nickel and dime you as a customer, but as an employee as well, including unfair practices with upper management. I am suprised this bank is still in business in the PA area. You are taught to take care advantage of customers, and du to their "ethics" and their tactics, I needed to quit. Stay far away from this bank!
