Used Cars Xml_icon

Driving used cars can save you a lot of money if you're lucky, or could cost you if you're not

* Talk about your experience with used cars.
* After all the repairs, was it cheaper in the end than leasing new / leasing pre-owned / buying new / buying pre-owned
* Was the money saving worth it in the end, or did you hate your life every time you got stuck on the side of the highway, smoke coming out from under the hood?

We are buying a car for my soon-to-be-sister-in-law for her graduation from college. We want to spend about $10K (of which she will pay us back $5K over time in an interest free loan). We are looking at Toyotas, which she likes and which seem to have good reputation as cars with a very long life span. I would be interested to hear any advice people might have about how to go about making sure the cars we look at are worth the money.
