Blue Credit Card Reviews

I've been a customer of American Express for many years. First with a Gold card and then I got my Blue. I always turned down the Platinum because I didn't need it and eventually closed my Gold card so I now have only the Blue card.
My credit rating is excellent and definitely better than the average person so that may be part of the reason I get a very reasonable rate. They even reduced my interest rate a couple of times without mentioning it.
American Express representatives have called me asking about certain charges and recently there were a few small charges that I knew nothing about. They removed those charges and sent me a new card quickly. There was another time when I had a problem with a company and they removed the charge for me.
The closest I ever had to a problem was years ago when I received a letter stating that my payment was late. It was actually made two weeks ahead of time. I called and the rep confirmed this. Seems to have been a computer glitch and the computer sent the letter out. It was cleared up within three minutes.
American Express has never given me any real problems and always friendly customer service. I expect to remain a member for many years.
I am not a shill like the other reviewers. After being a "member" since 1979, and in the midst of this banking meltdown, they raised my APR yet again. The rates are loan shark sized. There is no reason on earth to have an Amex card when there are perfectly good alternatives.

This is a great card with a simple rewards program. You just earn points and use them in whatever manner you see fit - flights, hotels, electronics, even charity. The points amount to about 1% of purchases ($1000 = $10). No fees and a reasonable APR. I have rarely called customer service, but when I do, the issue is promptly resolved.

This card is the absolute worse card ever. I used to pay $3,000.00 for law school. However, my school did not accept American Express due to having issues with them as well. I read my terms, which did not include any fees for a check so long as the check was not written to a bank. I also spoke to customer service, who assured me there were "NO FEES" for the check. Despite the terms and the rep assuring me, there was a $300.00 charge. I immediately paid off the balance in full (including the fee of $300 which should not have been there), from my savings and called to close the card. I received an e-mail confirming same. However, the following month I recived a bill for $10.00. I called and the rep assured me the cost would be refunded. It was not!!! So after numerous unsuccessful calls, arguing with the reps (they were saying my card was never closed, even though I saved the confirmation e-mail) I decided to write and provide proof. I wrote American Express sending them the confirmation e-mail and a copy of my check and they finally after all of this hastle they closed the card and got rid of the bogus charge of the $10.00. Be forwarned, American Express is a scam. Stick with VISA as I should have in the first place.

I have been a customer of American Express for decades.
I was vacationing with my family in Israel only to find that American Express had cancelled all of the cards I had with the company, including the centurion card.
All of my cards were current, as were all credit cards I hold with all other credit card companies.
The reason the company gave for the cancellation was that an amount of approximately $50 was due on a card that I had never activated. After spending hours with some of the worse customer service departments I have ever dealt with, the company reinstated the cards.
Two days later the cards, without any notice whatever, were cancelled again. This time again, a reason, having nothing to do with any amounts due on the cards, was given.
I plan on writing to our U.S. Senators about the company, and will be filing reports with various federal regulatory agencies. I am also setting up websites to boycott the company.
The company should not be permitted to do business. It is a disgrace.
This is an excellent card with great rewards. I just redeemed my reward points for a much needed pair of headphones. It is also great that there is no annual fee!

The "Blue Credit Card from American Express" was really of big help to me and my family. Aside from the ease of use that it offers, it does not have an annual pay which seems to be a burden for me on my previous experience. Another thing that I like about the "Blue Credit Card from American Express" is the 20 days grace period which is really that long enough for me compared to my past application form other entities. Me and my family really benefited a lot from the "Blue Credit Card from American Express". Thanks!

I have been a card member since 2004. The services and options that are available to me make it worth my patronage. The low APR even after all this time is what keeps me from closing out the account. I love the rewards available. For my wedding, I used my points to fly a bridesmaid in. The only problem is that because of the higher percentage charged to vendors, not every store accepts American Express. Fortunately, I only use the card for small purchases that I can pay off within the month. This card has made building up my credit score a pleasant experience.
