10,000 Membership Rewards Points
Join the ranks of the hard charging with the American Express Preferred Rewards Gold Card. American Express is offering 10,000 Membership Rewards bonus points - good for $100 in gift cards or $50 in cash or gift cheques - and no annual fee for the first year ($125) for new applications.
Get the American Express Preferred Rewards Gold Card for... no pre-set spending limit, Membership Rewards redeemable for travel rewards, and access to Gold Card Events.
Making the leap to a charge card is not for everyone. The card must be paid in full each month (no interest) but does have a $125 annual fee after the first year. American Express offers industry-leading customer service, along with Return Protection, Buyer's Assurance and Purchase Protection. Of course, these benefits come with the cost of the annual fee and the limited payment flexibility.
The 10,000 Membership Rewards bonus points kick in after 3-months and $500 of card purchases. Be sure to keep a copy of the offer in case the points aren't credited.
Not ready to make the leap? American Express offers a slew of credit cards with no annual fee and decent benefits.
About Preferred Rewards Gold Card
Preferred Rewards Gold Card Reviews
I love this card! Having no limit is a great thing, although it makes it hard to rein in spending! But I really enjoy the benefits we get from this card. We accumulate points with each dollar we spend and have been able to use those points to get a lot of gift cards for different restaurants. The only real issue we have is having to pay the whole balance every month.
I've had the American Express Preferred Rewards Gold Card for several years and I love it.
One of the main things that I look for in a credit card is a good rewards system to earn points I can redeem for air travel. After a bad experience with a US Airways MasterCard (US Airways has very limited flights in certain parts of the country, which makes their points pretty, well... pointless), I wa…s happy to find that the Preferred Rewards points earned with this card can be redeemed for tickets from twenty-some different airlines. So wherever you need to go, you're pretty much guaranteed you can use your reward points to get there.
American Express will give you 1 point per $1 spent, and there are no limits to the reward points you can rack up. There's no annual fee for the first year with this card, which is nice, but the reward points more than make up for the annual fee after the first year.
While the US Airways Dividend Miles World MasterCard I had before didn't charge an annual fee, it only gave me 1 mile for every $2 I spent. With the Preferred Rewards Gold Card from American Express, you get double the rewards points, and you can redeem them for all kinds of things in addition to air travel on many different airlines. I'll gladly pay the annual fee on this card in exchange for getting points I can actually use.
