The worst ever.
After pestering my wife and I we agreed to go with them .
the worst mistake we ever made! the amount of finicial knowledge
imparted to us was usless. iv'e learned more watching tv shows.
our rep was a moron. finally he called one day to ask to move a few things around. didn't mention it was gonna cost me $400.00 either. Run as fast as you can from ameriprise. customers to them are only something you extract money from. they only care about their retirement not yours. just a bunch of hacks.

Not happy with Amerprise. They tried to sell us over priced disability insurance when we really did not have the $ to buy it. Plus, I hate when they continually ask at the end of their session for friends and family names and phone #s.

Biggest problem for me with Ameriprise is that their agents discourage the use of the web site. If I need anything, I've got to place a call and wait for the return.
This is not a service for people who want to track their accounts online, or play any role in planning or trading.

I used Ameriprise for two years for Financial planning. Unfortunately, I didn't have a lot of time to monitor performance of my adviser, which was a mistake.

He placed me in a bunch of Ameriprise institutional funds that were 1 star rated by Morningstar. It was obvious to me (and later to state AGs) that Ameriprise put me in those funds because the commissions were higher, instead putting me in the best funds available.

When I discovered what happened, I immediately pulled my money out of Ameriprise.
