Ameriprise offers basic savings accounts to its customers. Funds can be accessed online, by phone, by mail or through Ameriprise's network of ATMs. Plus, the account comes with a MasterCard debit card and free check-writing privileges. You must keep at least $100 in the account and you can avoid the $7.50 monthly fee if you maintain an average balance of $5,000.
