Associated Bank's Basic Savings Account comes with a variable interest rate that is credited and compounded monthly. The minimum opening deposit is $100, but to avoid maintenance fees, you must maintain a minimum daily balance of $300 and an average monthly balance of $500 (unless you have a checking account as well—then minimum balances are not required). Online banking and ATM deposits are free. You also get 2 free withdrawals from non-Associated ATMS (you will be charged $1.50 per withdrawal after that); fees for inquiries at non-Associated ATMs are $1.

The interest rates for this account are very good. It is a great account if you also have a linked checking account with associated because then you aren't required to keep a minimum balance. If your daily balance goes under the 300 limit, you will most likely get charged their service fee. However, if you do have a checking account there, then this would be a good account to keep your savings in.
