My monthly interest earnings are fairly low but the extra money is still nice for a checking account. I got a free sandwich maker and a debit card when I opened the account. I like the account because they are very flexible with overdraft protection. Recently the overdraft fee was increased but, aside from the fee, they will cover your check if you miscalculate. Another plus of this account is that the Banco Popular branch is located in my local Walmart and has long service and weekend hours.

Another plus is their online service. I can check my account balance easily. Banco Popular does not mail back canceled checks with your statement but you can view the front/back of the check online.
