BOA just declined my request for a secured credit card. Unbelievable since I have banked with them for 3 yrs and never a problem. I went into the bank and they took $2000 from my savings acct, issued a certified check and sent it to Bank Card Services in Arizona; said it would take about 2-3wks to get the card. Yesterday I received the notice that I'm declined. I was SHOCKED... they have my money! It was not returned to my savings acct, however, they say they will MAIL it back!! However, why didn't it come in the mail with the decline letter??? Although I do have a poor credit report, all items are paid and I have a very good job making good money and decent amount of savings even after the $2k deposit. The decline letter said it was because I have past delinquency with one or more of my creditors... WELL DUH!! Why else would I be trying to rebuild my credit!! I plan to give them a piece of my mind on Monday and take my banking elsewhere!

Since they unsecure the card after a year w/ good payment history perhaps you should try a smaller deposit like 300. That way they can go ahead and approve you knowing that when they have to unsecure you after a year they can go ahead and do so
