US Airways Dividend Miles Visa Check Card from Bank of America

Anyone with a Bank of America personal checking account can sign up for this check card that lets you earn miles at US Airways while you spend. You earn one mile for every $2 in purchases, and one mile for ever $1 spent at US Airways to be exact. Plus, you earn 1,000 bonus miles when you make your first purchase. The card operates like a traditional check card: it withdraws funds straight from your checking account and doesn't involve interest rates. It does have an annual fee of $30 a year though.

I have had the Dividend Miles Check card for a few years and here's what I can tell you...the card does what it's supposed to. You will accrue miles.

BUT(!!!), USAirways has the most stingy rewards policy in the airline industry. A round trip rewards ticket used to cost 25,000 miles. You will be hard pressed to find a 25,000 ticket anymore with USAirways, since almost every reward ticket is at the premium range of 50,000. So, without you knowing, basically the reward benefit promised through this card was halved...requiring you to spend double for the round trip ticket.
Is it fair to complain about stingy airlines with the industry imploding, sure it is!
