My fiancee and I use this card for almost everything because of the airline mile accrual. We've managed to save enough miles for two flights, which will be great for getting his family to our wedding next year, however we're concerned about the redemption. There are quite a few black out dates. While that's certainly not Bank of America's fault, it was the feature of the card that we liked the most, and the reason we got it. The annual fee is a bit steep at 90 dollars, but the card is supposed to come with a 99 dollar companion pass on your anniversary, so hey. Not a bad deal. The online payment is easy, and secure. You need to be careful with this card. The cash advance and balance transfers are interest free, however the interest rate for everything else tends to be a bit steep at first. We called and requested a lower interest rate, and it was granted. Overall, I'd say it's a good card, but only good for those experienced with credit. Don't make this your first card.

I am using this card for last two years, it is really very beneficial as it offers complete online solution in terms of tracking your transaction, paying outstanding bills etc. Also this card offers mile points on US Airways which is really of great need when you are a frequent flyer.

Overall a great card.

Both my husband and I were happy (separate) card holders willing to pay the $90 annual fee each because of the yearly anniversary package which includes the $99 companion tickets... UNTIL NOW!!!

We find it very strange that neither of us has received our expected anniversary package. My anniversary date is April and my husband's is July. When I didn't receive mine in a timely manner this year, I called in June and I was told it was too early to call because the 8 weeks it takes to have the package received in the mail have not passed. I called again in mid-August and I was told I will be sent the companion ticket in 3-4 weeks. When it didn't arrive, I called again - twice. Finally I received something in the mail... a letter stating that the companion ticket has since expired and that my request for one is being denied! The letter also stated that my anniversary package was sent April 7th... 10 days BEFORE the $90 fee was posted (even though the package is supposed to be sent within 6-8 weeks AFTER the $90 fee is posted). What is even more strange is that my husband has not received his anniversary package and when he inquired about it, he was told his was sent April 7th... 3 months before his anniversary date!!! Given the economic crisis, we are assuming that Bank of America never sent the packages and never intended on doing so.

We would appreciate some feedback from those who are similar card holders. Did you receive your anniversary package this year?

I have been using this card for four years and I have a few thoughts. The on-line website is great for paying the monthly bill and tracking transactions. I also like the annual report that buckets my payments into categories. I never revolve so I am not concerned with the high APR and the customer service is better than average. The one gripe I have though is regarding cashing in on the air-miles. My statement does not tell me how many air-miles I have and they do not make the process very obvious. Given that the air-miles is the benefit to this card I find it frustrating that I have to do some work to figure out how to use the service. I do not feel that it justifies the $90 annual fee. I actually requested that they refunded me the annual fee and they agreed. Because of that I have kept the card but if they charge me again I will close the account.

I used this credit card when I was at school in New York to earn US Airways points for my flights home to Virginia. But that was before the day I called them to try to make a payment over the phone. When the woman asked for my birth date, I began to tell her the current date and said, "Jan-" (my birthday is in April), before correcting myself.

The woman became super suspicious (seriously, do they have a big problem with people stealing other people's credit cards and then proceeding to call and make payments on the card? I would like to change my account settings to allow anyone who feels the urge to make payments on my credit card to do so, please).

I tried to explain to her that I had simply started to say the date - not my birth date. She then explained to me that it was actually February anyway, not January (in my defense, it was EARLY February, ok?). She kept calling me "Vanessa" (seriously, I could hear the quotation marks in her voice), and ended up putting a freeze on my credit card and accusing me of being an identity thief (I think any identity thief with half a brain would steal the identity of someone with less debt than me). This left me poor and eating my roommate's food since, like all college students, I had existed entirely on credit and found myself suddenly without a credit card, feeling quite a bit like Angela Bennett in the Net when no one would believe that I was, in fact, me.

Long story short, I stopped using the credit card after that, but never closed the account because I was still planning on using my points for airline tickets. Then I went to school in Texas, and realized that US Airways has very few flights in the Southwest. When I called to redeem my points for a flight from Austin to New York, the not-at-all-sympathetic man on the other end told me that I could fly to Las Vegas or Phoenix. Oh, I'll try another weekend then, I told him. No - from Austin I could only use my points to fly to Las Vegas or Phoenix, period.

I don't know anyone in Vegas or Phoenix.

I ended up driving 4 hours to get a flight out of Houston. I don't think it was worth all the hassle to get one free (and extremely inconvenient) flight. And I now have enough points left to get one half of a flight.

This was all about three years ago. My card has been inactive since. I recently got a bill for $80 which included the annual fee and whatever other fees and charges they can come up with for a credit card that has not been used in years.

If you value such little things in a credit card like customer service, or reward points you can actually use, stay far away from this card.

I used this card for a number of years strictly to accumulate points on US Airways.

On the positive side - Bank of America makes it pretty easy to manage to manage the card online. I can track my purchases and pay down my debt online although the site is a bit cluttered so some of the tools aren't that easy to find. The online security is first rate.

This is a card that you really need to payoff monthly since the interest rate is really, really high. Mine is >16%. The annual fee is pretty steep too coming in at around $90.

I am seriously considering switching from this card. It is becoming harder and harder to use miles to purchase a seat particularly with US Airways. A few years ago it was easy to get a round trip at 25,000 miles. Today it is nearly impossible so frequent flyers are forced to fork out 50,000 miles for the ticket.
