Mutual Funds
from Brandes Investment
Brandes offers two funds: the Brandes Institutional International Equity Fund and the Brandes Separately Managed Account Reserve Trust, or SMART. The International Equity Fund mainly invests in stocks issued by foreign companies, focusing on those with market capitalizations that are greater than $1 billion, The SMART Fund invests primarily in a diversified portfolio of debt securities—from those issued or guaranteed by the U.S. Government to those issued by U.S. and foreign companies, as well as U.S. and foreign mortgage-backed securities. The value of shares can fluctuate with interest rates (when interest rates rise, the market prices of the debt securities the Fund owns usually decline and vice versa).
