Stay AWAY! Was a faithful customer, had a promotional balance that I paid faithfully. In january 2009 I checked my account on line. Was SHOCKED to discover that they had upped my minimum payment amount by double. Called to Inquire about it and they said that they did this because "THEY COULD"! Said I had 3 options. Pay the doubled plus payment each month plus a service fee. 2. Accept a higher interest rate for 1 year and then whatever interest rate was going at that time or 3. pay in full. Unbelievable! I have always honored my agreement with them and paid faithfully. I even had them set up on Auto Pay in order to never have a problem with payment. I did ask them if what they were doing to me was LEGAL? They said yes! I was a long standing customer with excellant credit. Very dishonorable business practices. stay away

I was a cardmember since 1983 -- that is, until November, when I was summarily informed that my account was closed due to it being used in a business capacity. While I did purchase things for the company I worked for, I do not own a business; moreover, as I had two other active authorized users on my account, it was only reasonable there should be myriad purchases. But I never went over my credit limit, paid off the balance in full every month and was a very responsible user of my BP VISA card. And for such behavior the company saw fit to cancel over $1,060 of earned rewards. When I questioned these actions, I was informed that I'd received a notice about all this; I don't believe I ever have. It certainly wasn't anything I was reminded about at the company web site, through which I would view my statement and pay my bill.

Truly, this company is the worst with which I've ever associated myself. I am so disappointed and angry that I sincerely hope some kind of class action suit can occur from such egregious behavior.

Very disappointed in the card. False advertisement. Closed account for no reason. Yep, Tennessee Joe, Christmas could have been nice for our family; an early stimulus check; a savings of $1660.60 to the penny; am I missing something here? Weren't we supposed to use the card? I will keep bugging them until they have their day in court.

As for BeachBum900, you are 100% legally correct AS my "legal team" has ALREADY pointed out that BP started "preying" upon you BEFORE "supposedly" canceling AND continued AFTER "supposedly" being canceled.
The "teaser", low-APR checks that were sent to you (2) months in a row, luckily I kept, and SHOW in "black and white" that THEIR mktg. dept. sent you these "offers" both before AND after "supposed" cancellation. Seems ILLEGAL, but the COURTS can figure it out

Chase cancelled my credit card, without notifying me, because I did not use it. They then sent me an offer to write checks on the account. Then they had the b**ls to dishoner the checks because they said my account was closed. Are they all crazy or just panicked?

My wife and I have used the BP Chase Visa for about 14 months now and never had a problem. We pay in full each month. When gas prices were high, we were spending around $400 per month on BP gas and never heard from the company. At that time, saving 20 cents per gallon was nice! We cash out our rewards every 6 months to prevent them from getting too high, and the check is always welcome!

I love my BP visa credit card! The 5% gas rebate is a great reward. I've never had any problems with this card and I've had it for over 10 years. I pay my bill early or on time every month. I just received a letter notifying me that my line of credit has been increased. No complaints about that!

Stay away from this card. They do not want responsible customers that pay in full each month and on time. They cancelled my card and I violated my Chase Card Member Agreement, BULLSH#$. They also refuse to redeem by $175 in rebates. Very Poor customer service and terrible company. STAY AWAY FROM CHASE. I will be closing all my Chase accounts including my home mortgage, even if it cost me more money.

Had card cancelled too, without the letter. Just went to pay for fuel and card wouldn;t work, good thing I had another card since I was out of town. When I called they said that we used for business. We have three trucks and a car, boat, 2 dirtbikes, four wheeler and a tractor, yes we use alot of fuel. We have four drivers in our family, I agree they don't want to pay out the rebates, I think they are in trouble.
