The more you spend, the more you save on gas at Hess locations. No annual fee and earn Hess rebates - a whopping 10 percent on Hess gas and merch the first 90 days and 5 percent after that. One percent on all other purchases.
I've loved my hess card, as it has save me hundreds of $$, but now they are notifying me that the 5% will be reduced to 3%. I think past and reliable customers should receive some consideration, in spite of the present economic times....?? At any rate, they used to be the greatest thing that happened, especially when gasoline rose so high. At least I was getting the largest discounts and $$ which seemed like a great benefit. I still use it some, but along with their prices going up higher and now their savings reduced, I don't know if it's worth staying with them.. I'm shopping around, as that is what we Americans do - keep our minds working and heads up high. Yes!
It is a good card, insofar as the discount is concerned. But they treated me unfairly by cancelling my card, without notifying me. I was paying on time, in full, each month, and I have no other credit problems, so they had no call to cancel the card. I was told that they made an error, and assured me twice that my card was still valid, but when I tried to use it the card was not accepted. In frustration I told them to cancel the card.
This is a great Gas Rewards card, but definitly not worth a 5 if we are talking about the overall category of rewards cards. Specifically, this card is only a real deal if you are shopping at Hess. However, being that I usually do little other than buy gas at a gas station... I think I will have to keep this one in my pocket as nothing more than a great card for gas.
