Don't bother with this card. Just like many other cardholders, you try and use your sony points to buy something and it takes for ever to get your stuff. You call and all they can tell you is the order is in process.
After accumulating enough points for a TV under the Sony Rewards Program I placed an order. Two weeks after placing the order I inquired how long it would take to receive the TV. The Sony Rewards advisor said it could take up to six weeks. Six weeks later I checked on the order was advised the warehouse had not sent an update but they would call me back. They never called back. After a few more calls, the Sony Rewards person called me back and left a message that the TV was on back order but they could not give a time frame when it would be shipped. A week later they told me the same thing. I gave up and cancelled the order. Very poor service. The Rewards Program is a joke.
I love it!!! And the points are so easy to earn!!!! Great card for thoughtful spenders like me!!!!
I applied this Sony Card online and bought a Sony camcorder at www.sonystyle.com in early December, 2008. I am supposed to receive $150.00 credit and 12 month no interest payment. I noticed the first bill I received that it does not have the promotional financing nor does $150.00 credit. I called the representative and was told to wait for another 4 weeks. However, the January bill I received yesterday remains the same, furthermore, it charged $5.29 for the interest. I called the representative again and the lady told me that $150 will show up in February bill. I believe the Chase credit card company is cheating the customer who applied the Sony card for postponing the credit and no interest finance. Shame on Sony Card
The best thing I like about this card is 1. great initial offer+money back(I got $150) 2. Its reward program is very good. You can earn 5x points for SonyStyle purchase, 3x for Sony from any sony dealer and 1x everywhere else AND most important just for playing some trivias online on Sonyrewards.com. I don't need to spend money to get rewarded :) Ofcourse the downside is you need to be Sony fan and Sony can get very tough sometime to release money to you. You need to drag them on phone everyday.
Great card for frequent Sony shoppers. The initial bonus is great and all your points can go towards savings on more electronics ( assuming it's Sony ). The no apr for the first year is great if you qualify.
