This card is a pure rip off. Don't fall into this. I fly freequently using United and upgraded hoping I can add some miles to my account. They promptly deducted the 25 $ fee. I made a couple of online ticket purchases and never saw the miles credited to my account. Called up the customer care and was told that those purchases dont count. That really baffled me. you buy an united ticket online to be told they are not counted according to their rules. They are treated as purchases made using your PIN. The only way you will see something added is when you visit some restaturant where you sign your bill. Even if I spend 500 bucks every month in restaurants, it's not worth the 25 $ fee for the miles that would add up to my account

As far as debit cards go, this is a decent product. As with all other Mileage Plus partners, the miles you earn with this card are not counted toward your status. If you are looking for a boost to Premier or Premier Executive status, don't bother with this card. However, if you are looking for an opportunity to earn United miles without much fuss then this is a decent way to do it. My only warning is that this is NOT a credit card and so many of the protections you get with a credit card are not provided with this, or most, debit cards. I learned that the hard way after having my debit card stolen.

I have the Visa and this Check Card, it only increases the mileage gained towards United flights. I think its fantastic, the fee is worth it if you think of all the times you use your check card instead of cash.
