I should have known with Chase involved it would be a problem. I owed $10 and it was late 2 days this was my first bill and they hit me with $39 late fee and took the interest up to 13.24 from 0. I called and asked them to do something about this and they just say "NO".
I will pay off the balance and just assume the fees I paid were for the United milage I recieved - I will not charge anything further on this account and cancel as soon as I can. They have lost a customer and a vocal one at that.

I underpaid my account by 3 dollars last month (my mistake writing the check, but paid well in advance of due date). Mileage plus card hit me with 39 dollars in late fees and 18 in finance charges. I immediately cancelled the card, and this month they are still charging me 14 in additional finance charges on a nonexistent balance. Don't work with this company; they will not forgive any charges and are complete rip offs.

My credit union charged my account for my payment in full to Chase 2 days before it was due. Chase said they got it 1 day late and charged me late fee and interest. BOGUS! I canceled the card and they could have cared less. I was a 10+ year customer! I elevated 2 levels to no avail. What morons. AVOID CHASE AT EVERY OPPORTUNITY!

I love this card i have never had a problem they lowered my interest rate to 9% and are always automatically raising my limit which is way too high anyways but its nice to know its there just in case i also use this to pay everything even if its just 2$ so have enough miles to do a couple roundtrips to Europe and i have never been late so never had to experience any late fees but i like this card and it is the only one i use today

Since the card is a Chase card I think it should be avoided. Beware of contract breaches, billing cycle changes, increased minimum payments etc.

I've had the card since 96 and they won't waive my annual $60 fee. What happened to loyalty? I guess they are going broke and don't care if they screw you. Time to cancel my account and move it to another card that takes better care of their customers.

They even suggested that I try to pay the fee via miles, and it came to like 7500 miles for the $60 fee.

It's too bad United switched their card to Chase bank several years back. Beware having a credit card with Chase, it is their company policy to never waive late charges. It doesn't matter if you've had the card for 10 years plus without a late fee. One day late and they'll make you pay those charges.

All Chase cards post payment extremely late in comparison to cards with other banks. I’ve seen a 5 day lag time if you use bill pay from your checking account. I’ve seen a 10 day delay back when I used to mail checks to them.

There are much better cards out there, including cash back cards that give you a better return per dollar spent with no annual fees. Don't put your eggs into one basket by getting addicted to collecting miles.

Quick hint, you can get them to waive the annual fee if you threaten to cancel the card. Not sure how many times in a row they will allow this, but I we did it twice before finally cancelling our card.

Moved and had a delay in billing, got stuck with a $65 fee they would not take off. I pay the balance off in full each month, but the customer service is so bad I am canceling this card. Plus, United as an airline keeps adding charges when you fly, $15 to check one bag!!!! Jetblue gets my money now.

I just told United that I will be using up all my points and then canceling my card. I had some timing errors and missed my payment for the first time. I caught on my statement that they were raising my interest rate from 18% to 28% on my balance. They did me a favor I am paying the total amount and going to use my FRONTIER CREDIT CARD AS my main credit card. I am sure they would screw me over too its to bad United was the first. Its unfortunate that they do business with a criminal organization like CHASE.
